FooDprint Lunch: the lunch that puts emissions on hold

Thanks to the partnership with Mugo, buying a dish from the Tavolamica menu purchases carbon credits to fund the “Cookstoves in Nepal’ energy efficiency project.

Mugo is the Italian climate tech organisation that uses technology to build climate understanding and carbon neutral experiences as a new opportunity for businesses. In partnership, Camst conducted a study on the greenhouse gas emissions generated during the production of 32 dishes on the Tavolamica menu in order to enable customers to make an informed choice during their lunch break and contribute to change. For each dish chosen, Camst undertakes to compensate the emissions generated by purchasing carbon credits to fund “Cookstoves in Nepal”, a project that aims to improve the efficiency of open hearth stoves, the only means of heating and cooking available to the people of the central Tarai, which are harmful to both the environment and health. The more efficient stoves will use up to 50% less wood and also create employment opportunities on various scales.
